In “Kate and Dale Talk Jobs,” I read about an employee who had a very difficult boss who was a screamer with an irrational temper and hated going to work. Dale responds that when a person works for a demaning boss, it lowers a person’s self-worth and could also bring down the person’s actual worth.
If you’re in such a situation, it isn’t easy thinking about the things you do well. According to the article, “… you’ll really be more effective if you can tap into that thing you do best, that thing you have passion for and that thing that drives you. Forget about the rest.” Keeping up those skills can help you survive and stay strong for the next job.
